Parramatta Family Relationship Centre

The Parramatta Family Relationship Centre (FRC) is conveniently located in the Anglicare building approximately five minutes walk from Westfield and the Parramatta train and bus station.

Information about our Centre

The Parramatta FRC having opened in July 2008 is a modern, spacious and friendly facility where parents and families are made to feel as comfortable as possible in often difficult times. There is an information shopfront on ground level and a children’s play room, six mediation and assessment rooms; a large training area and three waiting areas for clients to ensure their privacy and confidentiality.

We have an extensive resource of brochures and written information as well as an online computer allowing access to specific information and advice.

Service Delivery

Clients are initially assessed by Family Services Advisors by phone or in person who may refer them to internal or external services or programs. Clients are educated about the role of the Family Relationship Centre and given information specific to their needs including appropriate referrals for legal advice, counselling services and any other services as necessary.

Child Focus

The role of the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners is to assist families and the extended members of the family to focus on the needs of the children when making care arrangements following separation of the parents. Following an in depth assessment clients are booked into a Children in Focus seminar and then up to three hours free family dispute resolution where appropriate. Child Consultation is offered to suitable clients.

Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD)

Staff at the centre are fluent in Arabic and Hindi and we have access to interpreter services which are available by phone or face to face.
